Earlier this week I discussed two key ingredients that make a home sweet home, books and art. Here's a third- flora. In other words, the simple house plant. I come from a long line of green thumbs on my mother's side. Unfortunately, mine is more charcoal than chartreuse, but even I can manage to keep a handful alive. I love how plants instantly make a room come to life. Granted the specimens in these beautiful photos are fancier than the lowly ficus, but any touch of verdant flora softens the edges, makes the light dance, and quietly blurs the line between inside and out.

Of course, I jest. Nothing at all dull or yawn-worthy about this family of four. But then what would you expect when a furniture designer/shopkeeper combines talents with a stylist by trade. Effortless boho chic, that's what you get, via the dynamic duo of Mark Tuckey and Louella Potter. Be sure to visit this Aussie's site for gorgeous rustic modern furniture and a gallery of beautiful images.
Pretty convincing isn't it?
And what, say you, would I pair with my fabulous concrete chesterfield? Well, how about another classic, tufted beauty. The sexy Barcelona, perhaps? I spotted this unusual specimen during RainaFest 2010 earlier this year. Yep, patio furniture with concrete cushions!
