Gone Fishing

A fishing shack in the Catskills gets a makeover. It went from a 1940s wood paneled cabin, to a light and bright nod to midcentury minimalist design. The owner, head of her own public relations firm, says she favors "style and function over pedigree." I think she forgot to mention comfort and whimsy...yes, that is a Balinese daybed beckoning seductively from the lawn.

  1. So much better than that other shack featured last year in the NYT. That shabby chic shite-hole owned by the weirdo who lived in a trailer.

  2. HA! I remember that one Raina is talking about. So true.

Recently I've really been re-thinking this ebony floor look. Works so well here.

I also love that glass end table!

  3. Love the imminent danger of the opium bed perched just so on two stones/slices of wood(?) -- it really adds to the latent sexual tension of this charming pastorale ;)
