Feeling Busty?

It was literally months ago that I spied this fabulous, fanciful idea to adorn a wonderful vintage bust with a festive smattering of shells. I've not been able to get it out of my mind ever since. I love the craggy textures of those natural shells against the alabaster smooth carved busts. Such a dramatic statement!

Better still, I realized that we are busting at the seams (yes, pun intended) with these carved beauties in the MiNTY shop. I'm feeling a DIY coming on. How 'bout you? A little glue gun action and you too can have yourself a one-of-a-kind statement piece that will turn even the most bland corner of your home into a fine gallery. Take your pick....

The utterly breathtaking busts were spotted on And George. Take a peep at this post for all the details. And if you do not have a supply of sea shells readily at hand, visit the great land of eBay to stock up on every shape and size imaginable.

Juju

Ah, the ever elusive Juju. If you are a hoarder like me, there is always that something special you are on the hunt for. This feathery headdress is at the tippy top of my list. Of course, being that I am cheap, as well as a hoarder, I want to pay pocket change not top dollar. So I continue to search and covet. But if you are ready to drop some serious change and patience is not your virtue, nab this beauty from Table Tonic. Don't you just love that fabulous all white vignette!

It's Friiiiday! i.e.-The Big Reveal

I know we've been teasing you for days, and don't think it's been all fun and games 'cause we have been seriously working our tushies off, but finally, I can spill the beans. I'm thrilled to pieces to introduce a project, a dream really, that has been in the works for quite sometime. Susie, Jenny, and I have been scheming and plotting and arm-twisting to birth this baby and here she is. Introducing MINTY, our little "shop" that could.

We willed her into existence and here she is all brand spankin' new and shiny, just waiting to be explored. Housed in Antique Factory, a wonderfully quirky, eclectic warehouse-cum-storefront here in Atlanta, MINTY is your destination whether you are on the prowl for that must have piece to add to your collection, that show stopper item that will make your space dazzle, or a special gift for a design-obsessed friend. Be sure to visit our little corner of Antique Factory often for an ever-revolving selection of wonderful vintage furniture, beautiful accessories, unique art and gorgeous textiles.

We are just getting the ball rolling on our MINTY site, but MINTY is now open at Antique Factory. If you are a local, a southerner, heck, if you reside anywhere in the continental United States, drop by and see us at:

5505 Peachtree Road
Chamblee, GA 30341

770.455.7570

Hours are: Monday-Saturday, 11-5

We are currently selecting pieces for our online collection and MINTY will soon be offering online sales. In the meantime, in stock and ready to go home with you, we have everything from Bertoia chairs to Eames eiffel chairs, paintings by the inimitable Jenny of mfamb, lacquered pieces and vintage art, a fabulous brutalist headboard and the most amazing brass, glass, and lucite tables you've ever laid eyes on. Oh, and don't even get me started on the lamps. So all you faithful and ever-so-stylish readers, let us satiate your design cravings. Shop, MINTY.

A huge thank you to everyone who has already reached out with kindness and excitement merely in anticipation of our announcement. So much of our success in this venture will depend on the word of mouth of friends. We hope you will spread the word, friends.

Three Things + Some Exciting News

This lucite and brass table. My coffee table dream-come-true.

This gray campaign chest coupled with that Jere mirror.

And this sexy, cheeky, neutral gone wild wallpaper. Rawr.

Now, speaking of threesomes, I have a little threesome of my own happening with two of my favorite pals. Jenny from mfamb, Susie Q of eye spy fame, and I are cooking up a little something special. Come back Friday for the big reveal. I'm spilling over with excitement!

Oh, Monday!

Hope yours is full of unadulterated glee. I want to be the adorable toddler spilling over with laughter, as I share an inside joke with my fancy pants pet camel. No pet camel in my future, but I'm meeting up with two of my favorite peeps, the wickedly wonderful, sassy, and brilliant ladies, Mrs. MFAMB and Mrs. EYE SPY. Glad it's Monday after all. Hope your day is equally delightful. Have a good one, friends.

All of this should come as no surprise as this lovely place is inhabited by one half of the talented team behind AND GEORGE. Shut up.

Seriously, is your heart beating a little (a lot!) faster after viewing that display of deliciousness? Mine is positively racing. This line of utterly amazing sconces, lamps, and accessories comes from Matthew Studios and the materials are absolutely exquisite. From lucite to malachite, natural python to shagreen, they have it all. Not to mention the stunning rocks and minerals! Ok, I'll mention them...we are talking amethyst, gypsum, quartz, citrine, smoky black quartz, and turquoise. Seriously, I have died and gone to lamp heaven. Deep breaths, people. But, my favorite of all might just be that agate and brass side table. It is sublime perfection. Just the right mix of organic and glam. Bravo, Matthew Studios. Bravo.
