::DETAILS::

Just fooling around with my fancy camera whose capabilities are far beyond my know-how. It's interesting how your own home can look so different through the lens...how do the Costello's and Merrell's of this world work their magic? It's a mystery to me...

Whirlwind

This has been a crazy roller coaster ride of a week, in a most wonderful way. The celebration began last Sunday when my boys, all four of them, started off my birthday in my most favorite way, with flowers and coffee. {I see a trend here and here} And then of course, my sweet li'l sister delivers, literally, the most amazing birthday gift ever, two of the sweetest little boys I have ever laid my eyes upon. And then, just last night we celebrated my Father's 58th year. What a week it has been...and I am so grateful!

I know, I'm outta control

Just can't help myself! Guess who should be coming home today....hooray!!!

It's Official

I'm an Aunt!!! Times two!!! That's right, my beautiful, sweet little sister has officially added another title to my repertoire and I couldn't be more proud or more giddy with glee. She has really delivered, not just one but two gorgeous, perfect baby boys. Needless to say, I'm going to be out of commission for a bit, after all, could you resist this scrumptiousness, seriously, I want to devour them both. More pictures will follow...I got some baby snugglin' to get to...

Tactile

I find these sculptures by Pamela Sunday so curiously intriguing. I would love to hold one and examine it more closely. I've seen these lovelies here and there in various magazine spreads, but could never find a credit linking them to the artist. But by happenstance, I came across Mrs. Sunday's site and I am thrilled. Of course these fall into the category of "email for a price quote," which in my tongue translates to "you (me) probably can't afford these." Nevertheless, I'll keep on dreaming of these strange spiny, globular creatures...
update: So I went to go hunt down a photo in situ of one of these lovelies. I recall an interior by Thom Felicia in which one was prominently displayed on a coffee table. I can't seem to save the photo from the site, but take a look here if you are so inclined. The book in which it is featured is one I highly recommend. The interiors, especially the Hampton's home designed by Felicia, are gorgeous. I bought my copy in a little independent book store in Chattanooga, TN of all places. I was pleasantly surprised to note that the book has gone up in value, it must be out of print. I am immediately marching straight down to my Husband's basement office and informing him that this design obsession of mine has finally paid off, ha, the book is now worth at least four times what I paid for it! At which time he will inform me, he being the business-minded one of the pair, that it is worth nothing unless I can find a buyer...oh well, anyone interested? (wink, wink, I have a mortgage to pay)
updating the update: this is probably the longest update ever...but just as I am about to post, my husband calls and I tell him all of the above, insert: me beaming with pride, and he proceeds to inform me, in his oh-so kind and loving tone, insert: patronizing- "honey, it's not worth anything unless someone wants to buy it." Do I know my man or what! That was a good laugh.
