The Great Outdoors

Despite the dreary weather we are having (flurries yesterday-say what?) or perhaps because of it, I can't help but dream of swaths of green, colorful blooms, outdoor rooms, frosty drinks on the porch, splashing feet in aqua waters, and even shady corners, pebbles underfoot, birds chirping in the afternoon sun. I lost myself there for a moment, now I just want to get lost in any one of these beautiful outdoor spaces.

Can't stop staring at this one

I'm most impressed with the way the architects have been able to retain the original classic feel of this home and yet have seamlessly infused modern elements, such as this beautiful staircase, without making the transition feel at all disjointed. I love the crisp white interior juxtaposed against those luscious chocolate-hued floors, the great jolt of color on that front door, and one of my favorite elements, the sliding panel door. A beautifully executed renovation. don't you agree?

Le Love

I'm not sure what to call this marriage of styles, but I know I like it. A lot. I suppose this is what happens when Southern grandeur collides with Belgian austerity and for good measure a pinch of organic, a dash of vintage, and a smidgen of industrial chic is thrown in to the mix. Yum! It makes for a delicious design stew.
