Just Call Me Sentimental

{summer 2007}

{summer 2009}
Oy! Do they have to grow up quite so fast?
Tonight all the kiddos in the cul-de-sac ran around in wild packs from one backyard to the next. Just last summer, the youngest would have been clinging to my shin, fearful to put even two steps between us. Tonight, he was just one of the big kids, having some summer time adventures, his only fear- not keeping up with his older brothers.

Such a cutie pie! I wish we were closer so The Pea could run in that pack.

How wonderful and heart-breaking all at the same time.

Love the summer time picture you painted. A cul-de-sac is perfect for that.

Oy. I know the feeling. Erin says it dead on, wonderful and heartbreaking at the same time. It keeps going in cycles just like this as they get older. All good. It is right, but it can make you have to gasp for air at times.

Cute, cute, cute! And don't think I didn't notice that yummy black and whiteness he's lounging on . . .

Raina- I wish you were closer too, we'd love for The Pea to be a member of the neighborhood gang!

Erin- you nailed it, wonderful and heart-breaking, as only a mama would know.

g.- I know all about the gasping for air at times, sometimes too often for my preferences!

Alek- the black and white yumminess came from DWR. It's their Twilight Sleep Sofa. We got ours a few years ago when we finished the basment. They had a limited edition at the time, upholstered in this great Marimekko print. My husband was brilliant enough to order it. Gosh, I love that man!

How adorable! Yes, they do grow up fast don't they? I can't believe my daughter is now 11 & yeas, she doesn't cling to me anymore :(

Yes they do, way too fast. We complained when the terribles two's hit, and three's and fours and now we miss it.
