Last night as we were winding down our bedtime routine, lights off and having our final "good night" chat, J. the four-year-old says to me, "mama, I wanna fly." You mean like a bird, I say.
"Yesh," says he, arms outstretched for effect, "like a bird."
"Maybe me go in space ship?" Sure, I said, why not. "Otay, goo nigh."
Oh, how I love "seeing" the workings of this little mind in action. And J., just so you know, someday you will SOAR, yes.you.will. Of this I am certain.

Aaaawwww. That's all I got.
Sweet dreams, J.
That is so precious.
So sweet. This is the nice side effect of school starting, more time with those precious little ones.
I love stories like that - the little things the kids say. It gives a glimpse of how their little minds work. I remember always wondering when they were teeny tiny what they were thinking... now that they tell you it's almost always something so sweet or inspiring, isn't it?
And.. that photo. Too cute.
