I promised you photos earlier this week of the glorious day we spent in New Orleans. In the French Quarter to be exact. I tell ya, I'm completely smitten with this city. She stole my heart.
Every glorious detail is magnified as if under a looking glass. From the lush flora to the time-worn pavers underfoot, it's all larger than life. Somehow real, but not. This city is a fantasy come alive.
The last two snapshots are of a courtyard in the most spectacular home I've ever stepped foot in. Its classic New Orleans architecture made me feel faint. No, seriously, lightheaded. The building now houses a shop, Antiques de Provence. Think every beautiful item you ever imagined from the French countryside and it's there. In multiples. If you're ever in New Orleans, this is a must visit. A must.
An all around perfect day. I can't wait to go back. I hope you too enjoyed the virtual visit. I dare you not to fall in love.
{the Abe graffitti, it's a Banksy, I was so excited to spot one!}

Glad you had a great time.
I am enamored with this city, too. I went last June and I all I want is to get back. These are great.

Welcome LaurelStreet! I'm so glad you stopped by. You are very lucky to be living in such an enchanting city. I've definitely fallen prey to it's magical spell!
I always love seeing pictures of the city!! And I love when I can recognize some of the places!!!! It takes me back to when I was last there in August (I've been about 10 times!).
Okay, am I crazy? I'd love my walls to look like the walls in the Napolean House. All peel-y and crumbly. I love it.
Fabulous pictures!
And, how I miss New Orleans! The food, the architecture, the culture! Love that city.
It's all so beautiful. love the hanging pots in the window.

I so knew where you were just by your incredible images. I haven't been but you make me want to experience it. Lovely pics!
I'm so very glad you posted these!
Lovely.
Beautiful photos..! Thank you. And I am so glad you got away and visited New Orleans.... Somehow I missed it if you wrote about it earlier.
Anyway. Beautiful city and the architectural details are incredible. There is something very alive and vibrant about the collision between the Old World and the New World in this town, no? Totally different style, but it reminds me a little bit of Mexico City. I feel like magic permeates those two places - down to the very core. It's a pretty special thing to feel...
