Quirky, Vintage Fantasy

In my seven years of higher education, I never did succumb to the siren call of a semester abroad and what I imagine to be the excitement of being a girl let loose in a foreign country, no strings attached. But after seeing these images, I've fallen prey to a bit of daydreaming. This, I think, would make for a perfect London flat, in the heart of the city, perhaps provided by a quirky aunt, herself full of bohemian tendencies who's wintering in the South of France and has given you the keys to your own bit of magic. Mmmm, doesn't that sound like fun? Excuse me while I escape from the confines of my kitchen and saunter down to the perfect little cafe on the floor below. You know, the one with the time-worn floors and walls yellowed with age, glimpses of wallpaper past peeking through here and there, curvy, black Thonet chairs, and conversation that runs from dusk til dawn. Indulge yourself in a little fantasy. It's a good thing.

while i did do a semester in london, my flat unfortunately looked nothing like that. it was however quite edgy - we heard the owner was a greek rock-star, and the year was 1987....
(i will try to find some pictures :)

Oh, yes - that first one..! And the small shot of the kitchen... Just beautiful images. So lived-in and cozy...and like you said: perfectly bohemian.

Wow! I'm not sure how you consistently find homes and spaces that speak directly to my design aesthetic but I literally HAVE to keep coming back for more. Thanks for these!
