Got Wood?

I'm dreaming of injecting some warmth by way of wood into our boring, blah bedroom. I'd love to panel a wall, or perhaps the ceiling, in some wide-planked horizontal pecky cypress or gorgeously patinated, full of character, reclaimed timbers. Plenty of images to inspire here. Now I just need to convince the mister to make my woody dreams come true.

I have a half-wall that's panelled (hellooo 60's rancher!) that I thought I would hate but actually grew to love so I would say go for it! Would be beautiful at the head of a bed!

Also - all the starred items in my reader are pretty much every one of your posts. It's getting a little ridiculous! ; )

Yes, that would be nice. I am sure you can convince him! He probably will like the "woodsy" feel of it. Very manly? Good luck and hope your dreams come true

Thanks for the woody inspiration. Love the first image with the black and white... tile? paint?

Oh yes! Loved this parade of beautiful wood.
You're right it injects so much warmth in a room - I love how it immediately grounds me. There is nothing pretentious about wood - it is always right and always so inviting.

Thanks for this beautiful post.

All breathy-like, whisper "convince the mister to make my woody dreams come true" in Mister's ear and he'll say "yes, yes."

MB and Karly: At first I thought tile, then wallpaper, and then, maybe fabric? But who effin' care- it's fabulous! Karly I know you could do this- make a stencil or better yet, design the cool graphic and have it made into wallpaper!

Raina: I was waiting for that!

Susie: I bet he'd like that. A lot. Shhhhh!

Well I'm with Karly on this one 100% Obviously loving the B&W design walls, but picked out the unusual balustrade in pic 4 too.

Hope you get your hearts desire in the bedroom ;-)) I'm losing the battle for white floor boards in ours!!!

Just for the record. I was refraining from talking about getting wood in the master bedroom.

OK. I looked again and again at the first image, the image in question... not tile, not paint, fabric... maybe. My guess is some sort of cotton or light wool rugs. A textile.
You are right Nelya. Pretty awesome.

I'd think twice if I were you. About the brown, not the mister.

As usual, Karly is stealing my comments... I want to move into the top room with that insane wallpaper!!!! Do you have a source for that particular image?

Sorry Erin. I looked back at the post from which I snatched the image and there is no link. I have no idea. The blog is insideinside.tumblr.com if you want to try to reach out to the author.
