We're Back!

We are officially home and trying madly to catch up with all the details of life. I won't bore you with my to-do lists, but let's just say the laundry ain't gone wash itself! (how great would that be!)
We did have a wonderful trip and our long weekend in NYC was loads of fun. Better yet, we spent the remainder of our vacation exploring Washington DC. I had never been and was thrilled to see our nation's capital. Well it most certainly did not disappoint. Steeped in history and yet alive with modern culture, DC is certainly a city not to be missed. Our boys loved exploring the city and I loved watching their looks of astonishment at every turn. The White House! The Capitol! The Supreme Court! The countless, fascinating (free!) museums. And the list goes on and on. We will definitely return to delve deeper in to this fabulous city.
So back to reality. Posting may be light as I have tons of catching up to do. Have a lovely week!
{above images totally unrelated, but aren't they just lovely...and wouldn't that be a perfect entry to return home to...}

D.C. is one of my favorite places. I could just get lost in the National Portrait Gallery. We hope to take our girls to Washington later this summer.

Yay for DC! Glad you liked your visit. My favorite part about living in the city is knowing that I can just walk in and out of the museums whenever I please and I don't feel pressured to see every piece in there. We're spoiled here with such access to great art.

Hi Susie, it's now, most definitely, one of my favorite places as well! Take your girls asap, I bet they'll love it!

Hi there Semigloss Chic! I'm so glad you stopped by. You are one lucky duck living in DC! Amazing access to so many amazing pieces of art and artifact and such incredible architecture to boot. We loved virtually everything about the city and hope to go back for seconds soon. :0)

I'm so glad you're back! I thought that you were only going to be gone a few days so I kept popping over here, only to find that you were STILL gone. So welcome back!! I didn't know you were going to DC as well - it's my hometown so I'm so glad you liked it. I think it's totally underrated. The free museums are insane, right?
