Textural Explosion

Bamboo, rattan, wicker, palm fronds, and whimsical butterflies. I'm always lamenting the suffocating heat we experience down south, but get me a cold drink and a whirring ceiling fan and I'd be quite content to while away my summer days in this tropical pad.

Verdant.

I was scrolling through my most recently saved inspiration images and I noticed a common thread...the color green.

Like this gorgeous malachite mirror. And can we just talk about this fabulous bathroom for a second. From this angle it looks just like my powder room configuration. Except, of course, my powder is nowhere near as fabulous. I haven't stopped thinking about this image since I spotted it the other day. If I could recreate this bold and beautiful space, I totally would! Could you go for something this wonderfully brazen in your home?

I'm also feelin' some intense love for that awesome piece of art. It's like Lilly Pulitzer gone abstract.

Um, hello lush and tropical. Nice to meet you.

Okay, if this isn't the most beautiful fabric you've ever seen, then you're lying. It's Judy Aldridge's new dining room and yes, I am green with envy.

And just when you thought it couldn't possibly get any better, shut your mouth, it does. Oh lord, just look at that sofa and faux malachite table.

Kermit said it ain't easy being green, but I say, what do frogs know.

Happy Monday, friends!

Daily (Oh So) Pretty

Gosh, this one gives me goosebumps. I'm a huge fan of Barrie Benson and her especially deft ability to combine vintage, traditional, masculine, and feminine elements...but this one is exceptional. That mirror absolutely slays me with the ever-so-simple linear gold frame and then the striking action happening on the interior. The wallpaper is out-and-out fun and the play of the gorgeous art (photography) against the wallpaper and with the mirror, in particular, is fantastic. Then those girly vintage chairs and that curvy burl console...yum! Needless to say, I want this set-up. Baaaad.

Looking for a Country House?

Have I got the perfect place for you! Nestled in the Hudson Valley in Chatham, NY this beautiful 1850s farm house is for rent. Fully furnished, the home, owned by talented photographer Laura Resen, resides on 3.5 acres of property dotted with apple and cherry trees, a vegetable and herb garden, and stands of lilac, peonies, and narcissus. Do I have your attention yet? Well, lets get down to the nitty gritty...check out the beautiful interiors.

If the home looks familiar, you might have seen some of the rooms featured here on Head Over Heels in the past. I'm a big fan of photographer/owner Laura Resen's work and was thrilled when wonderful reader, Marybeth, sent me an email with these images. I was equally thrilled when Laura gave me the thumbs-up to share them with you. This place is my fall fantasy come true. Can you imagine cozying up to the wood burning stove and spending the season lazily gazing out at the amazing natural views. Well, you can. Be sure to send me photos (and I wouldn't turn down an invitation) should you become the new lucky resident.

Three Things + Some Exciting News

This lucite and brass table. My coffee table dream-come-true.

This gray campaign chest coupled with that Jere mirror.

And this sexy, cheeky, neutral gone wild wallpaper. Rawr.

Now, speaking of threesomes, I have a little threesome of my own happening with two of my favorite pals. Jenny from mfamb, Susie Q of eye spy fame, and I are cooking up a little something special. Come back Friday for the big reveal. I'm spilling over with excitement!

That wallpaper, that light, that mirror...better yet, this entire room.

That wall color. This sconce, chair, rug pairing.

This darn pretty bedroom.

That color palette.

This wall color, that pillow, oh, and the rug, too.

This exterior and those windows and doors.

C'est Chic

These rooms are perhaps a bit more formal and sophisticated than spaces that I normally feature and gravitate to, however, there is no arguing that they are supremely elegant. I can't help but fall prey to the allure of so many beautiful details.
