Wee Bit of Indigo

This one's for you, Mb.

Hello, Hello! Where did the summer go? Back to school is the official motto in our house. Those long summer days are behind us and homework and soccer practice fill up the calendar. Nonetheless, my head is in the clouds, or, more accurately, at the beach. I want to park my seat on that chaise above and gaze mindlessly at the pool + ocean view. Wishful thinking, but a girl can dream.

Daily (Oh So) Pretty

Gosh, this one gives me goosebumps. I'm a huge fan of Barrie Benson and her especially deft ability to combine vintage, traditional, masculine, and feminine elements...but this one is exceptional. That mirror absolutely slays me with the ever-so-simple linear gold frame and then the striking action happening on the interior. The wallpaper is out-and-out fun and the play of the gorgeous art (photography) against the wallpaper and with the mirror, in particular, is fantastic. Then those girly vintage chairs and that curvy burl console...yum! Needless to say, I want this set-up. Baaaad.

Billy Baldwin, Circa 1975

Just a couple of years younger than I am and holding up a heck of a lot better. I would happily bring home every piece in this space. Especially the art. Oh, the art. Nice work, Mr. Baldwin.

Beachside

Clearly my blogging has been lax as of late. So it may very well be that you've already seen this absolutely stunning beach home owned by the inimitable Madame Wearstler. In case you haven't, feast your eyes on the splendor and if you've already taken a peek, well, I for one can never get enough of her truly one-of-a-kind aesthetic. Enjoy!

And a pair of wonderful lucite and glass-topped pedestals sure to showcase your favorite sculpture or piece of art.

Looking for a Country House?

Have I got the perfect place for you! Nestled in the Hudson Valley in Chatham, NY this beautiful 1850s farm house is for rent. Fully furnished, the home, owned by talented photographer Laura Resen, resides on 3.5 acres of property dotted with apple and cherry trees, a vegetable and herb garden, and stands of lilac, peonies, and narcissus. Do I have your attention yet? Well, lets get down to the nitty gritty...check out the beautiful interiors.

If the home looks familiar, you might have seen some of the rooms featured here on Head Over Heels in the past. I'm a big fan of photographer/owner Laura Resen's work and was thrilled when wonderful reader, Marybeth, sent me an email with these images. I was equally thrilled when Laura gave me the thumbs-up to share them with you. This place is my fall fantasy come true. Can you imagine cozying up to the wood burning stove and spending the season lazily gazing out at the amazing natural views. Well, you can. Be sure to send me photos (and I wouldn't turn down an invitation) should you become the new lucky resident.

Quintessentially British

Welcome to The Olde Bell. Steeped in history, this boutique hotel first opened its doors in 1135. I think they've done a little bit of renovating since and I love how the old and new manage to commingle beautifully.

My favorite detail has to be those cleverly draped restaurant booths.
Gorgeous woven blankets in traditional prints, held snugly in place by what appears to be a leather strap. Like I said, a perfect marriage of the old and the new.
