From the Heart

I was searching through my photo files yesterday looking for a kindergarten shot of my 5th grader for his 5th grade yearbook dedication. Eek- 5th grader! Who by the way is about to turn eleven next week and who got an early birthday gift from his overeager daddy yesterday, a cell phone!!! Lord help me. Anyway, all that to say, how the heck do these kids grow up so fast? I mean you bake them, and birth them, and grow them and then you turn around one day and BOOM, somehow, when you weren't looking, in between making lunches, and wiping tushies and snotty noses they go and actually grow up. So, I'm feeling slightly melancholy today, but these photos of my boys sharing a quiet moment on our beach vacation this summer make my weepy heart smile.

Happy Weekend Friends!

I know it goes by fast! I usually "ache" when I look at photo's of precious times. At that moment in time, you think that they are "big" or "growing up". Now, you are in this moment realizing that they are "big" and "grown up" even more so. Just think in a few years you will be looking back on this time and say, " They were so little". It is hard to let go! Does that make any sense? Anyway, my daughter is 12 and in 7th grade and we still haven't gotten her a cell phone. "everyone" has one, but you really have to be careful with the texting, I hear about all these drama's in middle school that go on with cell phones, ect.... Have a great weekend!

Oh, Sweetie. They're so sweet! But don't tell them I said that.

Tell them they're grounded if they age another nanosecond.

Lovely, lovely boys. Lovely, loving mother.

My only one (so far! we hope!) will turn 5 in December and I can't believe he's the same tiny infant we brought home almost half a decade ago.
Time has indeed evaporated.

There's nothing quite like those wistful moments of longing in a mother's life.

Hug them all tight, Alcira

Ah Nelya, A mom's lament. Loving em hard and nurturing them in all the ways we are suppose to... and then, you are right. You turn around and they are grown ups. Hate that.
It is still good. My husband and I know how fortunate we are when we get to visit with our three adult daughters. They have grown up to be good people. For the record, our girls still relax together as your young sons do.
You have so many years with them under your roof. Enjoy every minute.

Who the heck let them grow so fast? They are so sweet. My son is going to be 4 in 2 weeks and I can't believe it... I can only imagine how it is for you :)

So cute! and the littlest has gotten so big!
Did they immediately start wrestling in bed after the photo shoot?

PS- I loved 5th grade. One of the best years of my life.
