Feeling Busty?

It was literally months ago that I spied this fabulous, fanciful idea to adorn a wonderful vintage bust with a festive smattering of shells. I've not been able to get it out of my mind ever since. I love the craggy textures of those natural shells against the alabaster smooth carved busts. Such a dramatic statement!

Better still, I realized that we are busting at the seams (yes, pun intended) with these carved beauties in the MiNTY shop. I'm feeling a DIY coming on. How 'bout you? A little glue gun action and you too can have yourself a one-of-a-kind statement piece that will turn even the most bland corner of your home into a fine gallery. Take your pick....

Mercury Rising

To say that this weekend was hot is the understatement of all understatements. 107 is not hot, it is deadly. And if your AC decides to go kaput on the hottest day of the year (no, make that the hottest day ever), well then, my friend, you're screwed. Needless to say it was a very long, and did I mention, HOT, weekend. In honor of the hell-ish temperatures, I present you with a little beverage that's sure to send your internal mercury downward. Strawberry Basil Sangria, anyone?

• ½ lb of fresh strawberries
• 1 apple
• 1 ounce of fresh whole basil leaves
• 1 bottle of Chardonnay
• ½ cup organic sugar
• 1 cup of club soda
• 1 cup of white grape juice

Shop Update: Nautical, Beachy, Marine-Inspired

A Big Fish, by the name of Elle Decor, whispered in my ear that "marine creatures of all shapes and sizes are making a splash as summer's most charming motif." Of course we MiNTY gals were already on it. We've just updated the shop with loads of under the sea inspired goodies and lots of pretties for you landlubbers, as well. If you can't make it to the beach this summer, then bring some nautical home.

Forgive the radio silence, but my life has been taken over by field days, and end of year celebrations, and parties of every sort imaginable. Not a bad thing for sure, however I've not had a moment to spare and so the blog has suffered. Bad, bad blogger am I. And now it's T minus one day until school's out for the summer, which means you may not see me for months.
