Daily Pretties, A Threesome {and the aletafae giveaway winner}

From designer and fellow southerner, Jenny Keenan, a bevy of pretty. What a gorgeous combination of textiles, texture, and color. See more of Jenny's design work here and be sure to check out her fun new blog, Jenny's Southern Comfort.

And now, the moment you've all been waiting for, the winner of the Aletafae pouf giveaway is....drum roll, please....Number 24, as chosen by random.org. The lucky comment belongs to Sarah of La Maison Boheme! Congratulations, Sarah! I'm so excited to see which pouf you choose and I hope you'll post a pic of it in your home!

Thanks everyone for participating. I wish I could give one of Aleta's beautiful poufs to each and every one of you, but the consolation prize is that they are so reasonably priced and wonderfully versatile you can purchase one of your very own, here. Once again, thank you Aleta for your generosity. I love supporting small businesses, especially when they are run by talented mamas who create beautiful handmade goods.

Happy Weekend, friends! I hope all of you new-to-me faces continue to visit. It was wonderful to hear from so many new readers!

I blush...

The ever so lovely Anne, from City Sage blog fame, was kind enough to mention Head Over Heels as one of her fav blogs in an interview she did with Lynne of Tea For Joy. Well, Anne, a sincere thanks goes out from me to you across this Lil ole Internet. Wow, honestly, you made my week. Be sure to check out all of Lynne's wonderful contributors to "2009 Style Resolutions." Some truly great bloggers have offered equally great insights on style. Thanks again Anne, I blush!

Yeah, I'm a mini van driving soccer mom, and proud of it!

I'm sitting down to write this post and I'm just not sure what to say. The photo above is of my car, what remains of my car, after it was hit by a hit and run driver Saturday night. In my own neighborhood no less. This mini van saved our lives. The boys and I were in the car that night, thankfully my husband, who is almost always by our side, was not in the car with us. We all walked away safely thanks to the miracle of modern technology, thank God for seat belts and air bags. Someone up above was certainly looking down on us that night, the seat adjacent to what's left of the door above is the only one not occupied by one of my boys.
The driver of the other car fled the scene. We know only a very little about the description of the car, but some information has come forward and I am hopeful this person will be identified and prosecuted for their cowardly act. I hope karma is fully in force.
So tonight I hold my boys a little more tightly, love them more deeply than I ever thought possible, and thank God for blessing us with what's most important, the gift of our family.
I don't think I have exhaled since the moment I realized that that car was in fact going to hit me, and I don't know that I ever will. But I will always remember looking over my shoulder at the three precious faces staring back at me and the overwhelming relief of knowing that my little ones were safe. Whoever your loved ones are, be they of the kiddo variety or your one and only, remember how completely, totally, madly head over heels in love you are, really and truly it's all that matters.

He Superstar, Me Paparazzi

Don't get me wrong, it's not all unicorns and butterflies around here. He can be a HUGE pain in the @*s, think exorcist, oh yeah, we have those kinds of days on occasion. BUT, when he's like THIS, oh my goodness, I melt and would follow him to the ends of the earth and back again, shooting photos along the way of course. Two was a particularly good year for the third-born.

Wish I had their Stamina

...there was rockin' out on the drums

...much relaxing and airing out of little piggies

...ringing in the New Year with a bang
...braving the cold to watch the sparks fly

...they're still up, all of them

...lounge act
...hustling grandpa

...we heart our little twinkies

...go granny, go granny...gangsta style in the 'burbs

...sharing some love

...uh oh, there's a monster in the house
...they climbed the furniture

...knocking down the pins

...climbing the walls, literally

...oh lawdy, bless her heart, this is what twins look like

...mmmm Daddy's grilled olive bread, one piece down 10 more to go

These kids of mine are certainly up for a party, literally up, until 1:00am that is. We had a small, impromptu celebration in the basement and it turned into a full throttle bash...it was a great way to ring in the New Year. Welcome 2009!
