Post Nap, Circa 2008

I just came across these images from an old post. Back when I had all of two readers, one of whom was probably my husband. All that to say that these are probably new to you and as for me, I can't believe my third born was ever such a tiny bundle of deliciousness. Actually, being the "baby" he seems frozen in time, but looking at these images I'm shocked at just how little baby remains. Almost makes me want another one. Almost. Just for a second. You know, sticking your face into that delicious warm baby neck. Ugh, I better stay away from Mr. P tonight (I think my ovaries just exploded).

First Day {in photos}

We've officially made it through the first week, with nary a tear in sight. Well, that's not true, no tears from the big boy. Me, on the other hand, now that was another story. And thankfully, because of Labor Day, no school until Wednesday. More time for me to love on him! But I do have to admit I'm sooo proud of the big kid. He hung in like a trooper.

"Mama, I did good today."

Boo Hoo

"Mama, please stop taking pictures of me!"

Siiiiiigggghhh, I'm drowning in a sea of tears right now. Damn that soggy bagel. Seriously, you'd think I'd be a pro by now. This is the third time around and all. But this is the toughest one yet. I miss my baby ya'll. I just wasn't ready for this. Not yet.

Then and Now

We are officially three (good ) nights in the big boy bed. No falling out of bed, no getting up and wandering around, just a peaceful night's sleep. I guess he really is not a baby any more! Sniff, sigh, sniff...but oh, how he loves it! Hard to believe, but after TEN years, it really is time to put the crib away, perhaps for the next generation...smile.

He Superstar, Me Paparazzi

Don't get me wrong, it's not all unicorns and butterflies around here. He can be a HUGE pain in the @*s, think exorcist, oh yeah, we have those kinds of days on occasion. BUT, when he's like THIS, oh my goodness, I melt and would follow him to the ends of the earth and back again, shooting photos along the way of course. Two was a particularly good year for the third-born.

Contagious

Lately we've had a bit of a hard time with the three-year-old. He is definitely smack dab in the middle of the terrible threes. Sometimes when he is having "a moment," I could pull my hair out. But then there are times like this. The epitome of a happy-go-lucky little boy. Gloriously contagious!

Hhmmff

The Third Born's new favorite refrain around here, "Mommy Soooo Aw-full!" I guess you can't please everyone. And anyway, it's better than his previous way of reprimanding me which was peering at me with squinty angry eyes and exclaiming, quite loudly, "Mommy Bad Boy!" That one always p*ssed me off. You'd figure since I am the only female in the house, he could at least get my gender right.

Budding Architect

"Mama, show me"- {translation} Mama come with me, I want to show you something. The youngest had this waiting for me in the basement the other morning. He was so proud of himself for creating this cityscape. Even the two older brothers were impressed. Budding architect, perhaps?
