Yet Another Gorgeous African Spread

{Naomi, the mirror-a virtual birthday gift from me to you}

I seriously think a trip to Africa is in order. While I always thought the primary focus of an African adventure would be going on safari, my opinion has been skewed as of late. All of these beautiful African homes and interiors, which keep crossing my path, make me think there is more to Africa then just flora and fauna.
This one in particular had me beside myself over that glorious kitchen. I always gravitate toward a kitchen that shows some age, some history and this one is no exception. The use of the grand-scaled antique cabinetry is inspired. The contrast of the formal carved wood pieces, against the simple white walls and the delicious shade of blue on the functional island, all come together to form a very happy whole. I particularly love how the stove is framed out by the cabinetry. And of course, the rest of the house is not too shabby either.

You put the exact words to my thoughts about that kitchen. I couldn't have said it better. Lovely!

Yes, yet another gorgeous African spread. wow. I love the simplicity in the first few photos. The sitting room with the white fireplace and the mattress ticking ottoman?? Perfection. Love the red glass tucked into the bottom left of the photo.
Swoon.

PS. Nelya, you know the "virtual" mirror? Wisteria has them in their catalog and on line... also in their Warehouse. Just saying, they are divine.

thank you for my mirror, dear! I shall treasure it in my inspiration files for always.

MB- I think she means virtual because she nor I will splurge for the Peacock mirror. Rather we shall admire from afar.

I'll also take that blue island, please!!

Just back from a three-week African safari.Don't sell yourself short - plenty of inspiration in the wild that meshes beautifully with what you have here.

That kitchen is beautiful! Love the mix of the big ornate side pieces with the more rustic blue table.

A trip to Africa is definitely in order! I love Africa and I'm dying to go again soon. My upstairs landing looks just like the first pic - the space, not the decor, of course since there's just spill over crap there right now. But it will serve as inspiration to do something in that space way off in the future. :)
