Friday Fixation: Artist Victoria Reichelt

Oil on linen. That's right, I said oil on linen. As in paintings, people. Prepare to be amazed.

There is little I love more in a beautiful interior than a wonderfully inviting, loosely unkempt bookshelf. In fact, we are voracious readers here at casa Head Over Heels. So much so, that you can hardly take a step in our household without tripping over a book. No lie. Hence, you can imagine how enthralled I was when I came across the amazing work of artist Victoria Reichelt. The realism exhibited in her paintings is, well, um unreal. I can not wrap my head around the fact that these are oil paintings and not photographs. What an incredible talent, what insane control, and what an incredible eye for accuracy and detail. Definitely having a wow moment.

I'm curious, are you a bibliophile? What does your bookshelf say about you?

Happy Weekend, friends! Be sure to stop by Monday for a beautiful house tour. This one will surely knock your socks off!

Pardon the Interruption

Yes, pardon the interruption, but you must go see this. It's epic! Really, I'm not sure how someone throws something like this together, but I'm thankful that she has and you must take a looksie. First check out my blue post below and then go get lost over on Katie's most amazing blog.

Making Me Happy...

These gorgeous blooms I swiped from my sister's garden are making me very happy indeed. Some perspective- yes, my child is exceptionally small, no, that is not a child's chair, and most certainly, these hydrangeas are positively gargantuan. I've never seen any quite this large and they return year after year. What do you call these? I call them spectacular!

spic and span

This is a dry cleaning operation. Yeah, you heard right, dry cleaners. I've never seen anything quite like it. Designed by KAA Design Group, Royal Cleaners is a family-run "modern mercantile" with an "attention to detail and a tradition of quality." It's like walking into Martha Stewart's brain, really, I think this is what it looks like in the nether regions of her mind. Pretty amazing, don't you think? By the way, my local establishment looks nothing like this, I don't even think my clothes are worthy...
