Slumber

This time of year, as the temperatures drop, the instinct to hibernate sets in amongst the animal world. Even we humans are not immune to this instinct and so we answer the siren call of sleep by seeking out a lofty, layered, come-hide-under-my-covers perfectly outfitted bed. After all, who are we to snub a toasty warm interior that invites lazing around, snuggling, and all manner of nesting?

Just yesterday morning, after the older boys were off to school, the little one awoke a touch too early for my preference. I gently scooped him up and carried him back to my bed, entertaining hopes that in his still sleepy state he might drift back off to dreamland. Lo and behold, he did and I managed to sneak a few z's alongside that sweet little body. What a luxury. Truly, few things can compare to such precious, fleeting moments.

So here are a few dreamy bedrooms to incite your own visions of bliss. Sleep tight.

Okay, just 2, no make that 3 more

I just couldn't resist a few more pretty pictures. Those dining room chairs are calling out to me and that bed is so lovely and inviting. As for the bike, well I don't ride, but darn if I wouldn't park it in my foyer just to admire it's great color!

Modern Take on Traditional

I've come across the portfolio of yet another talented design duo, Alexandra and Eliot Angle of Aqua Vitae Design. I like the modern take on traditional that these two uber talented designers seem to have a knack for pulling off. Their website is filled with some solid eye candy and if you're in the market for custom furniture or antiques, then these two have covered that angle as well. I love that the rooms are succinctly edited and beautifully pared down with an eye toward the fine details. And if that isn't enough, they can give you some pointers on how to make a great cocktail too! Cheers to really good design.

Sniff, Sniff, so sad

Another excellent publication bites the dust. I was so sad to read this morning that Cottage Living magazine is shutting its doors. I've enjoyed many great reads from CL and found much inspiration leafing through its pages...that sucks! Note to Economy: we get the point; time to pull yourself up by the bootstraps and get your rear-end in gear. P.S.- don't even think of coming near my Domino!
