Daily Pretty

What a riot of sheer fabulousness!

Signature Details

These striking interiors hail from the portfolio of Robert Stilin. I'm completely enamored with the neutral palette and the calm air about these spaces. Yet, although the use of color is restrained, what impresses me most is that the eye nevertheless has so many details to gaze upon. The rooms are deceptively simple, but I'm sure a great deal of forethought went into making them appear so. Obviously, design is in the details and I'm certain it took a great deal of effort to make these beautiful spaces appear so effortless.

Home Tour: Bungalow Style

This is the porch people, the porch! That mirror and that table, together, make for a perfect arrangement.

I love that the outside of the doors and windows are painted that great spring green. It makes for a striking pop of color when you let the fresh air in. And not a bad view from the bed, right!

Speaking of the bedroom, what a fantastic idea to use a screen as a headboard. I really like the scale here.

Okay, so this is brilliant- wood slats and "s" hooks= perfect art wall.
Not your typical nursery and that's exactly what I love about it. You can't completely see it in this shot, but there is a shelf built around the sides and top of the window over the crib, great storage and makes for an interesting display.

I love the horizontal wainscot and the simple, serene vibe in this bathroom.

Oh you sassy, green, tufted chesterfield!

Another brilliant built-in bookcase and really, there are just too many great ideas in this space to enumerate. Just drink it all in...

Vintage, yet still fresh. And I can't get over those green window frames, love!

Um yeah, I'll take a mojito and call dibs on the third cushion from the right.
Seriously, I could move into this lovely bungalow and not change a thing. Such a stylish, comfortable, welcoming home.

My Heart is Beating Dangerously Fast.

What is it about this compelling home that has me weak in the knees, literally? Is it the location in the French countryside, the incredible dreamy photography, the blend of old and new.... Okay, so it's everything! This place truly amazes me, absolutely spellbinding.

Vintage Gem

Beautifully remodeled vintage home. This one is particularly close to my heart. When my husband and I were 23 we purchased our first home, a perfectly preserved little rancher from the '60s. We bought it from the original owners and every detail had been left intact, from the gold starbursts on the formica countertops to the broken tile entry floor and the vintage sliding glass doors and windows. At the time, finishing school and beginning life were the priorities and so we left it as is. To this very day we regret the sale of that home. Our family grew and so it was inevitable that we would move on to a bigger home in a better school district...yada, yada, yada. But, I still miss that pristine little gem and often daydream about the renovation we might have embarked upon.

Where does the time go?

My first-born is almost ten years old. Actually, not until October. But I know that I'll blink and it will be October and he will be ten and on his way to eleven. OMG, how did that happen.
My sweet, precious new nephews are now a month old, except they couldn't be because they were born just yesterday, weren't they? Nope, 4 weeks and one day. How did the time fly by so very fast? They were tiny and scrawny and all limbs and skin. Now they are scrappy and chubby and growing like mushrooms, seemingly overnight. *sigh*
Parenthood, all you can do is take it one day at a time...even if time flies. This is a great reminder. She always puts things in perspective and makes me grateful that I have my boys, all four of them.
